    Saudi Customs: Engineering Customs Procedures our way to encourage investment and promote the growth of the national economy.​

    ​Saudi Customs officials stressed the importance of communication with the business sector, pointing out that continuous communication contributes to the development of the work mechanism to serve all sectors, and raise the level of development of services in line with the aspirations of the vision of the Kingdom of 2030, during a monthly meeting on Tuesday for businessmen and women in the Asharqia Chamber.​

    The meeting, which was attended by the chairman of the chamber, Abdul Hakim bin Hamad Al-Ammar Al-Khaldi, hosted four Saudi customs officials in the Eastern Province: Dhaifallah bin Bader Al-Otaibi, Director General of King Fahd Bridge Customs, and Yousef bin Ibrahim Al-Zakan, Director General of King Fahd International Airport Customs in Dammam. Mohammed bin Sami Hamam, Director General of King Abdulaziz Port Customs in Dammam, and Abdulaziz bin Ibrahim Al Twaijri, Director General of Al Khafji Port.​

    During the meeting, Al-Otaibi reviewed a number of initiatives taken by the Saudi customs as part of its strategy to develop the clearing-house mechanism and facilitate its services, which are to shorten the procedures.​

    Al-Otaibi said that the Saudi customs through its strategy to provide distinctive customs services through the re-engineering of customs procedures, which contributes to facilitate trade movement and encourage investment and promote the growth of the national economy, to reach the goal of customs to become the Kingdom of global logistics platform, and to support this Orientation Saudi Customs will provide “pre-judgments”, one of the world's best practices in trade facilitation, and also in line with the provisions of the WTO Trade Facilitation Agreement, which entered into force on 22 February 2017.​

He pointed out the main points of the project, most notably improving the procedures of export and re-export, and improve the procedures of temporary admission and temporary export, as well as procedures for shipments less than container, transit, in addition to improving the procedures of reservations and abandoned, and improve the procedures of the container management system, and procedures of deposit areas.

    Al-Otaibi also explained that the project to improve the procedures of air freight, express, and mail, aims to redesign the procedures related to air freight and shipping through express companies and shipping through Saudi Post, that this was based on a study of the current situation and understand the weaknesses to contribute to the realization of the vision of the Kingdom 2030 Supporting the transformation process in the Kingdom by becoming a leader in the customs work in the world, and supporting the Kingdom's directions to become a vital crossing point in line with the Kingdom's position and influence in the global economic movement.
